Recorded in a tiny room, using minimal mics and all analog outboard gear, we collected some of the absolute tightest sounding drum samples and loops.

Dead, dry drums are hard to come by these days. Over-processed and verbed out sounds have plagued every corner of the sample world.

We wanted to design an entire library of real, raw drum samples and loops that allowed music makers to process, verb, compress and destroy these samples in any which way.

This is Dead Vol 1.

KICKS

We tracked 8 kick drums.

Marching drums, single headed vintage kicks, and modern tubs through subharmonic generators.

Every kick has wildly different character. These sounds are extremely effective for adding low end dynamics.

SNARES

14 DIFFERENT SNARES, READY TO BE SMASHED.

This is probably our finest collection of snare drum samples. We captured all types of muffled and cranked drums using minimal mics.

Carving out these samples with some analog outboard EQ and processing gave us that real gooey deadness.

These snares are ultra-processable and standalone will add some real aggressive mid range to a track.

ALL THE EXTRAS

We love to destroy samples too. In the Dead Z pack folder, we’ve added some sounds that have gone through extreme processing in the form of subharmonic generators, pitch shifting and tape saturation.

We have also included a folder of 160 organic loops as well as percussion and our mix assist samples.
